Antibiotic resistance: interview with Patrice Nordmann
At the Life Sciences Series #1 event held last December at the BioArk in Monthey, we talked about antibiotic resistance. On this occasion, we received Mr. Patrice Nordman, Professor at the Department of Oncology, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Fribourg.
He gave us an interview in which he reminds us of the evolution of the different bacterial strains since the 1960s and the measures that have made it possible to reduce certain bacterial infections, while others are developing more and more resistance, such as Gram-negative bacteria. He also explains the importance of developing both new treatments and new rapid diagnostic tests in parallel.
